At The Lancaster School, we provide a curriculum to meet the individual needs of all of our children. If your child requires additional support they may be placed on the Special Educational Needs register and individual targets will be put in place to ensure that they makes progress. These targets will be reviewed three times a year as part of the assess, plan, do and review process. Advice and expertise may also be sought from outside agencies, for example, Speech and Language Therapists, The Working Together Team or an Educational Psychologist. It maybe decided that even with these additional targets and support from outside agencies that your child would benefit from a higher level of enhanced provision and the application for an Educational Health and Care Plan may be considered in order to fully meet the needs of your child.

As parents you will always be completely involved in any decision or provision regarding your child’s Special Educational Needs. The involvement of any outside will only take place with the consent of parents and regular meetings will be held to discuss progress and next steps.

If you have any concerns about your child, whether this be social, academic, physical, mental or emotional, please contact Miss Page, SENCO through the school office or speak to your child’s class teacher.
